Exclusively bottled for The Single Malt Shop this Green Spot 10 year old single cask was drawn from an ex-bourbon cask filled in May 2011 and bottled at an impressive 58%. With just 192 bottles of this exclusive liquid created, this is a truly rare Irish single pot still whiskey. The original Green Spot from many decades ago was also a 10 year old, so this bottle brings together the history and heritage of Mitchell and sons, an iconic family name in Irish whiskey, to create the very best in single pot still whiskey. The nose gives a medley of fruits from sweet red apples to zesty citrus and mandarin. Apple crumble with dustings of cinnamon work with the vanilla and clove oil aromas. The taste gives an initial burst of pot still spices with jasmine tea tannins. Fruit notes of sweet pear and orange work in tandem with the vanilla, as the oak continues with cinnamon and nutmeg. The lingering finish interweaves oak and fruits amongst the fading spices.
